Creative Central

As part of the Urban Vision built environment education programme we now have funding from CABE to deliver a number of creative workshops at community festivals and events in North Staffordshire during the school summer holidays (from 23rd July until 6th September 2010).

Creative practitioners and urban design professionals will deliver the workshops that will be ‘made to measure’ for each event or festival, ensuring that they are interesting, fun and accessible.

We are inviting expressions of interest from event/festival organisers who would like to work with UVNS and host one of the ‘Summer School’ workshops.

before Friday 11th June with the date, venue and description of your event/festival.

Through our Built Environment Education Programme we aim to give children, young people and the wider community the opportunity to develop personal and emotional responses to the built environment through experiment, art and play so that they may:

• Experience different places and spaces
• Increase understanding and awareness of their environment
• Develop ways to articulate and express their responses to places
• Be involved in decision- making processes
• Take action to improve the built environment

Working with schools, colleges and communities we design and deliver projects that question, explore and open up dialogue through creative experiences inspired by the built environment.
