Set in tranquil surroundings of Abbots Bromley School for Girls in Staffordshire, Abbots Bromley Arts Society invite you to ’Imagining the Landscape’ – a painting and creative writing Summer school. Set over two days, the event includes individual tuition in small friendly groups with two of the country’s leading practitioners David Gleeson and Paul Henry.
David Gleeson M.A. RBSA is an award-winning and internationally renowned landscape and portrait painter and Paul Henry is one of Wales’s leading poets. Originally a songwriter, Paul is the author of five collections of verse, he has read at festivals across the UK and Europe and has guest-edited Poetry Wales. He is a popular Creative Writing tutor and currently presents the ‘Inspired’ series of arts programmes for BBC Radio Wales.
On the Saturday attendees will have the opportunity to spend a day in creative writing and poetry workshops led by Paul Henry and in the evening enjoy poetry readings and supper at Yarlet Gallery, nr Stafford . On the Sunday David Gleeson will hold a series of oil painting workshops and tuition. At the end of the course keep-sake copies of the poems and paintings created over the weekend will be presented to each person. Lunch and refreshments will be provided on both days.
